| Core Tip |
This study applied symptom network analysis and directed acyclic graph methods to examine the interaction network between body constitution and depression, offering a novel interdisciplinary perspective on mental disorders. Qi-deficiency and Qi-stagnation constitutions may be the predisposing traits contributing to the sustained depressive network. “Depressed, sad, and blue” represented a primary central node; “nervousness and anxiety” exhibited the highest expected influence and tended to form potential directional associations with somatic symptoms; “sleep disorder” acted as a key bridging node; and “adequate vitality” appeared to confer a protective effect. Individualized constitutional interventions may help modulate the pathological network architecture of depression. |
