Key Words Artificial intelligence; Chronic liver disease; Cirrhosis; Hemostasis; Portal vein thrombosis; Viscoelastic testing
Core Tip Bleeding and thrombosis in cirrhosis are competing failures of a fragile hemostatic system; however, published prediction models usually quantify only one failure. Viscoelastic testing describes the current clot behavior more directly than routine tests, but it is rarely incorporated into future-risk models. Before developing a digital twin, a paired-risk model should combine clinical, hemodynamic, and hemostatic data and be tested in external cohorts.
