Core Tip In this single-center retrospective cohort study, postoperative morbidity after cytoreductive surgery (CRS) plus hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) was assessed using the Clavien-Dindo (CD) classification and the Comprehensive Complication Index (CCI). The number of resected organs was independently associated with a higher CCI across six sensitivity analyses, whereas body mass index was independently associated with major morbidity. Major morbidity decreased over time; however, this unadjusted temporal finding was exploratory and potentially influenced by case-mix differences. These findings demonstrate the complementary information provided by CCI and CD-based major morbidity when characterizing postoperative outcomes after CRS-HIPEC.
