Core Tip |
The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of pirfenidone in the early treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) on lung function in patients. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 113 patients with IPF. These patients were categorized into two groups: A control group (n = 53) and an observation group (n = 60). In the control group, patients received routine therapy in combination with methylprednisolone tablets, while the observation group received routine therapy along with pirfenidone. Eventually we came to the conclusion that the prompt initiation of pirfenidone treatment in individuals diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis can enhance pulmonary function, elevate inflammatory factor levels, and increase the distance covered in the 6-minute walk test. This intervention is conducive to effectively decreasing the occurrence of adverse reactions in patients. |
