Core Tip Obesity and diabetes are now public problems that threaten the health of people worldwide. Although bariatric surgery for the treatment of obesity associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) has been shown to be a safe and effective approach, its challenges have not been described systematically and comprehensively.
