Core Tip Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the tumours with the worst prognosis and the 5- year survival is discouraging, even nowadays. The advantages of surveillance of HCC in patients with cirrhosis remains controversial, but the best strategy considered is to diagnose the tumor in early stage, which gives the opportunity to access a better curative treatment. The current review will focus on the more recent available evidence about surveillance and diagnosis of HCC.
