核心内容提要 |
Historically, humeral shaft fractures were predominantly managed through conservative methods,. However, with advancements of open reduction internal fixation and intramedullary nailing, the rate of surgical intervention has gradual increased. But according to the previous literature presented, there were not consistent conclusions about conservative and surgical treatments. While conservative treatment is avoid surgical complications, and functional bracing also have outstanding results, but both operative and nonoperative of the periods of follow-up and the potential for complications like nonunion, malunion, and lost of reduction are still on debate. Patients of surgery group are benefit form early functional activities, but there is a risk of infection, nonunion, and failure of the internal fixation. Compared with conservative treatment, surgery group have similar Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand scores at 12 months. Hematopoiesis is further disrupted by intraoperative soft tissue disturbing, and nonunion may also result from potential instability of conservative treatment. |
