In this review article, we discuss how hepatobiliary fascioliasis, a neglected parasitic disease caused by Fasciola hepatica. Current diagnostic methods, such as stool analysis and serological tests, are unreliable and often linked to false positives. Molecular tests like polymerase chain reaction are not widely available, and new treatments and therapeutic options are needed. |
