Core Tip This review emphasizes the incidence and social burden of neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on the pathogenesis of these diseases and available therapeutic approaches. We have thoroughly investigated the potential of mesenchymal stem cells for use in treating neurodegenerative diseases and explored their therapeutic effects on different diseases. This review aims to elucidate how mesenchymal stem cells can alleviate the progression of neurodegenerative diseases by modulating molecular pathways related to abnormal protein accumulation, neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and neuroregeneration.
