Core Tip This prospective study in subjects with small bowel angiodysplasia has demonstrated that endoscopic intervention with balloon assisted enteroscopy and argon plasma coagulation has a positive impact on both patient reported quality of life and fatigue severity. The beneficial affect is independent of age, gender and baseline haemoglobin levels. The study supports the use of balloon assisted enteroscopy and argon plasma coagulation as a cornerstone of small bowel angiodysplasia treatment, particularly for those with multiple lesions and those amenable to intervention, as benefit was demonstrated without adjunctive medical therapy. Endostatin would appear to be a potential biomarker for response and warrants additional investigation.
