| Core Tip |
Primary cutaneous B cell lymphoma is a type of lymphoma that presents in the skin without evidence of extra-cutaneous involvement. Prognosis and treatment being different from systemic lymphomas involving the skin makes differential diagnosis very important. It is a heterogeneous group of diseases that consists of indolent (primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma, primary cutaneous follicle centre lymphoma) and aggressive forms (primary cutaneous diffuse large B cell lymphoma, leg type and intravascular large B cell lymphoma). The indolent forms are mostly confined to the skin and have good prognosis whereas aggressive forms present with disseminated disease and are treated mostly with systemic combination chemotherapies. |
