Core Tip |
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is an indis-pensable tool in pancreatic cancer not only for tissue diagnosis and disease staging but also for therapeutic purposes. Although some EUS-guided therapies such as celiac plexus interventions and biliary drainage in the setting of unsuccessful endoscopic retrograde cho-langiopancreatography (in expert tertiary referral centers) have become widely accepted interventions for patients with pancreatic cancer, other techniques have yet to evolve. Given the lack of effective systemic treatment for pancreatic cancer at present, further research in therapeutic EUS is warranted.
