Core Tip Secondary choledocholithiasis is a commonly seen disease in departments of hepatobiliary surgery, and the most cases of them often have no symptoms. Failure of timely predicting the presence of choledocholithiasis lead to an increased incidence of postoperative residual stones and related complications. In this study, a total of 829 cholelithiasis patients were included, and the results suggest that abnormally elevated serum gamma-glutamyltransferase level has an important value in the diagnosis of asymptomatic choledocholithiasis secondary to cholecystolithiasis. As a convenient, rapid and inexpensive test, it is worthy to be applied in secondary asymptomatic choledocholithiasis routine screening.
