Core Tip Tumor angiogenesis in GC and anti-angiogenic therapies for GC, including information from their preclinical to clinical trials and/or application, are discussed. The anti-angiogenic strategies include decreasing the expression of pro-angiogenic ligands and their receptors, increasing the level of angiogenic inhibitors, the direct targeting of the inner walls of ECs, and the administration of cell-cell adhesion inhibitors for advanced GC. This review provides a brief description of various tumor angiogenic factors for the purposes of diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutics and describes the anti-angiogenic drugs that are currently being investigated in preclinical and clinical trials. Hopefully, based on the molecular mechanism of tumor angiogenesis, we highlight the accuracy of diagnosis and prognosis and the selection of the most appropriate therapy for GC patients.
