Key Words Physical activity; Exercise; Training; Chronic disease; Osteoarthritis
Core Tip A sedentary lifestyle is one of the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. On the other hand, physical activity exerts positive effects both on prevention and also on the management of chronic diseases. Osteoarthritis is one of those conditions which considerably benefit from exercising. General practitioners should prescribe training in the same way as other medication and should also suggest a protocol of movement based on the needs of every single patient.
