Core Tip Our retrospective study included 149 patients with acute pancreatic disease. The changes of intestinal flora were detected by hydrogen breath test. We found that the change of intestinal flora in patients with severe acute pancreatitis is related to acute respiratory distress syndrome, which can aggravate the disease. The results of hydrogen breath test can be used as a warning signal for severe acute pancreas.
