Core Tip This review throws enough evidence to convince the clinicians that coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) causes acute mesenteric ischemia in patients, especially those with preexisting co morbid conditions. Any patient suffering from COVID-19 and having gastrointestinal symptoms should be observed with high index of suspicion and when diagnosed with acute mesenteric ischemia emergent surgical treatment should be offered, which is the only hope for survival in such patients. Although the results seem unfavorable.
