Core Tip |
Amlodipine (ALM) is a powerful, well-tolerated, and safe anti-hypertensive agent widely used alone or as a key component of combination therapy for hypertension in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Its effectiveness in reducing blood pressure has proven benefits in cardiovascular event reduction and progression of renal disease. Overall, ALM emerges as the drug of choice in comparison to the newer calcium channel blockers in terms of its effectiveness and potency in BP lowering in CKD patients. |
