| Core Tip |
Utility of classical radiographic findings suggestive of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mediated pulmonary infarction (Hampton’s hump, Westermark sign, subpleural sparing and reversed halo sign) should improve the diagnostic accuracy of identification of COVID-19 pulmonary complications. This gain in accuracy would apply whether these findings are seen on plain chest X-ray or computed tomography. The former is important in financially constrained locales with limited medical technology infrastructure. Distinctive COVID-19-associated coagulopathy is more frequent with worsening disease severity in COVID-19. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging can play an important role in monitoring and prognosis. “Artificial intelligence in COVID-19” and “‘Intelligent edge’ and other remote monitoring devices” are also discussed. |
