Core Tip |
In clinical studies, miR-124 is highly expressed in the serum of patients with diabetes and in pancreatic islet β-cells. In this study, the role and mechanism of miR-124 in diabetes was explored. miR-124 was highly expressed in the diabetic mice, suggesting that the miR-124 was involved in the pathological process of diabetes. In high glucose-induced Min6 cells, miR-124 regulated the insulin secretion, proliferation and apoptosis of islet β-cells by targeting enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2), indicating that miR-124 was involved in the pathological process of diabetes by targeting EZH2, which might provide a new idea and target for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. |
