Core Tip Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) is a neglectable tropical disease, although many parts of Sudan are hyperendemic to VL, many centers have very limited diagnostic capabilities and limited data reporting. Here, this is one of the first studies from Sudan that investigated both the hematological and bone marrow changes associated with pediatric VL and Leishmania donovani Load obtained from bone marrow biopsies. The data of this study was collected form tertiary and specialized centers for treating VL in the country, here, we used modern analytical methods to describe the result for the global audience and to highlight the importance of these new findings derived from a country that is hyperendemic to VL.
