Core Tip |
The strength of this study lies in the integration of transcriptomics and proteomics data from the same sample source (peripheral blood mononuclear cells) to better observe mRNA-protein inconsistencies and mRNA-protein correlations, thus explaining the biology of schizophrenia in a holistic manner. Proteomics and transcriptomics correlation analyses provide a panoramic view of the expression profile of schizophrenia, enabling complementarity and integration at the transcriptional and protein levels. Again, this study is one of the few to investigate the role of the SERPING1 gene in neural cell proliferation and apoptosis. |
