Core Tip |
Herein, we report the case of a patient who developed intestinal failure due to short gut syndrome and complex enterocutaneous fistula after pancreaticoduodenectomy. This patient successfully underwent multi-visceral transplantation as a rescue treatment for this condition. We also described the challenges encountered in preparing the first intestinal transplant candidate in our country. To our knowledge, this is the first intestinal transplantation performed in Southeast Asia. |
