Core Tip |
Pancreatic cancer (PC) is an extremely aggressive malignancy, characterized by a 5-year survival rate of merely 11% and is highly resistant to chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. PC is largely defined by core driver gene mutations. BRAF mutations are rare, but important because of the availability of targeted drugs. We report a rare case of PC with a high tumor burden with BRAF V600E mutation. Despite the use of chemotherapy and targeted therapy, the patient’s outcome remained poor. This case highlights the significance of molecular profiling in patients with pancreatic tumors, especially in young patients with aggressive characteristics. |
