Core Tip |
Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) is an uncommon pancreatic tumor that primarily impacts young women, especially those in their twenties and thirties. This report highlights the case of a 15-year-old female who experienced a two-year history of abdominal pain and was diagnosed with a solid pseudopapillary neoplasm localized to the pancreatic tail. The patient underwent an open distal pancreatectomy accompanied by splenectomy, and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of SPN. This case underscores the possibility of SPN occurring in adolescent girls and points out the vital importance of early diagnosis and timely intervention, which can significantly enhance clinical outcomes. |
