Minimal change disease (MCD) represents a unique type of nephrotic syndrome in adults. The pathogenesis of MCD was attributed to several mechanisms in the past which could not explain all the features and the therapeutic implications of MCD. The current identification of the zinc fingers and homeobox transcriptional factors has provided a new dimension to understand and provide better management in MCD. |
