| Core Tip |
Ischemic heart disease is a condition that attacks a growing number of patients every day, despite advances in the medical field. This phenomenon implies the need to identify new therapeutic approaches. Galium verum (G. verum) is a plant with cardio-protective effects, able to maintain cardiac contractility. However, until now, no in vitro or in ovo studies of G. verum extract on cardiomyoblasts and vascular plexus have been performed. Thus, in the current study, this aspect was followed, observing a stimulating effect of the plant on the H9C2(2-1) cell line, without signs of apoptosis, without pronounced irritating effects in ovo, and with a protective effect on the chorioallantoic membrane. |
