Core Tip |
In cases of gastrointestinal duplication involving cystic masses, maintaining a high suspicion for potential malignancy is crucial, even in asymptomatic patients. Due to the rarity of these conditions, a multidisciplinary approach is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Comprehensive imaging studies, like contrast computed tomography, should evaluate the cyst’s characteristics and its relation to adjacent structures. Surgical intervention, preferably through en bloc resection, is recommended to ensure complete removal of any neoplastic tissue. Regular follow-up and monitoring of tumor markers are vital for early detection of recurrence or progression. |
