Core Tip The management of complete anastomotic occlusion following colorectal surgery is challenging. Despite advances in surgical techniques, surgical revision is associated with significant morbidity and fatality. Therapeutic endoscopy has been introduced as a minimally invasive approach for the management of this postoperative complication with promising results. Based on the article of Chi et al, we reviewed all available endoscopic techniques that have been used for the recanalization of completely obstructed anastomoses, highlighting the pivotal role that endoscopy can play in the management of this postoperative complication.
