Key Words Cranioplasty; Cranial implant; acquired defect; Heat cure Poly methyl methacrylate resin(PMMA).
Core Tip Cranioplasty has been thoroughly investigated since the 1980's till this date, especially for pediatric patients. Many interesting articles on this topic has been published till now. Generally, they report on advancements documented in materials and techniques followed in recording the defect site, designing the cranial implant and manufacture of the implant. This article describes a patient whose cranial defect has been restored with a prefabricated acrylic resin cranial prosthesis.CAD/CAM prosthesis or metal prosthesis would have been the most probable option, but considering the economic background and affordability of the patient, heat cured resin prosthesis was planned for cranioplasty
