In this editorial, we provide an overview of the relationship between stress and depression. The potential role of stress in the diagnosis and prognostic monitoring of depression is analysed through the existing literature with the aim of providing new perspectives on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of depression. This article will further emphasise the importance of uncovering stress biomarkers in depression. |
