Key Words ocular endoscope; vitrectomy; retina; micro incision vitrectomy surgery; retinal detachment
Core Tip The ocular endoscope enables us to observe the inside of the eye and manipulate the surgical procedures independent of the status of cornea, pupil size and media. Moreover, it enables us to manage peripheral lesions without scleral indentation. The enlarged view under the endoscope obtained by drawing towards the lesion seems to be another advantage. It seems a great advantage for us to have a skill of endoscopy, however, as the endoscopy has a learning curve, it is necessary to be familiar with the handling of the endoscope in usual cases.
