Core Tip |
Detection of free cancer cells in the peritoneal cavity by cytology is being done in the gastric cancer operation is routinely to predict future manifestation of peritoneal recurrence. However, its improvement has been a matter, because of its low sensitivity and specificity. Therefore, the development of a new diagnostic modality has been investigated along with the development of modern molecular biology.
In the present review, we went over and summarized the recent interesting challenges regarding molecular diagnosis of intra-peritoneal gastric cancer cells, and referred to the new therapies for gastric cancer with peritoneal spreads. |
