Diabetes is an endemic condition that has high morbidity and mortality rates. Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when consumed, give healthy benefits to the recipient. The current study evaluated the effect of a triple probiotic combination (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, and Bifidobacterium bifidum) in the diabetic population by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials. The results of the current study suggest that the use of this probiotics combination can provide beneficial effects to patients with diabetes. |
