This study explores the relationship between heart rate variability (HRV) and angiographic severity of ischemic heart disease as reflected by the Gensini score. While traditional HRV indices (standard deviation of NN intervals, root mean square of successive differences, spectral indices) showed no significant correlations, several novel parameters - including de Hann sinus tachycardia index, van Geijn interbeat interval difference, Huey long-term variability, and Dalton mean absolute beat-to-beat - demonstrated weak but statistically significant associations. These findings highlight the potential value of emerging HRV indices in assessing coronary atherosclerosis severity and suggest new directions for research in noninvasive cardiac risk stratification in stable ischemic heart disease patients. |
