| Core Tip |
Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) show great potential for predicting treatment response in various cancer types. Although gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm organoids can retain the pathohistological and functional phenotypes of parental tumors, their roles in the prediction of clinical outcomes are not presented. Here, we first reported a case of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor with liver metastases who successfully received surgery after personalized treatment guided by PDO-based drug sensitivity testing and achieved a good prognosis. Therefore, for the individual pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor patients with liver metastases, PDOs contribute to screening effective chemotherapy drugs to facilitate the personalized treatment, providing opportunities for surgical resection and improvement of survival outcomes. |
