| Core Tip |
This study revealed that the incidence of postoperative pain in patients with achalasia who underwent peroral endoscopic esophageal myotomy (POEM) significantly increased, with 26.8% of patients experiencing at least moderate-intensity pain (numerical rating scale score ≥ 4). Furthermore, preoperative anxiety and a high Eckardt score were independent risk factors for post-POEM pain. These findings suggest that incorporating clinical symptom assessment, psychological status screening, and optimized analgesic strategies into preoperative anesthesia management is crucial for preventing and relieving postoperative pain. |
