| Core Tip |
Dislocation is a challenging complication of primary total hip arthroplasty, as it is a leading cause of early revision, and the management following closed reduction is still controversial. This review presents the outcome of the proposed methods of treatment (bed rest, bracing, and early rehabilitation), which are unfortunately supported by limited data and small case series. Although our investigation failed to provide reliable guidelines for the post-reduction treatment strategies, immobilization should be avoided, as its effectiveness in preventing recurrence is not confirmed by clinical evidence. Further comparative studies including larger cohorts are required to establish best practices. |
