This meta-analysis was conducted to determine the effect of subcutaneous injection of teriparatide on the bone union of osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures. Six studies (four randomized controlled trials and two non-randomized studies) met the inclusion criteria for systematic review. We found in the pooled meta-analysis that teriparatide reduced union time, varus collapse, and complications in osteoporotic intertrochanteric fractures. Future studies including more patients should be undertaken to confirm the results of this meta-analysis. |
