Gastric ulcer is a prevalent gastrointestinal disorder with multifactorial causes including Helicobacter pylori infection, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs use, and systemic inflammation. Recent evidence highlights the role of complete blood count-derived inflammatory biomarkers - such as neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio, and particularly the systemic inflammatory response index - as promising noninvasive indicators for risk stratification. These inexpensive and accessible markers may provide valuable insights into immune dysregulation, predict disease severity, and guide individualized management, representing an important step toward precision gastroenterology. |
