Key Words Chronic kidney disease; Cardiovascular disease; Obesity paradox; Body mass index; Waist circumference
Core Tip In patients with chronic kidney disease, there is a close relationship between cardiovascular risk and obesity index, and blood glucose level is an important factor in this relationship. Even if the patient’s weight is relatively light, the cardiovascular risk will increase, and the concept of “thin is safe” should be challenged. In clinical assessment, we should pay attention to the patient’s body mass index and waist circumference, and analyze the patient’s muscle atrophy and malnutrition situation to carry out individualized risk stratification.
