This study demonstrated the important role of ferroptosis in diabetes mellitus (DM) with myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. For the first time, we advocated for an integrated Chinese and Western medicine approach to treating DM with I/R. Daming capsule and sodium-dependent glucose transporters 2 inhibitor reduced lipid peroxidation and iron deposition synergistically via adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, thereby inhibiting ferroptosis and improving cardiac function. |
