Effective care requires managing the molecular risks of medication alongside the functional necessity of psychiatric stability to enable life-saving lifestyle changes. Clinicians must recognize that antipsychotics like olanzapine pose dual risks: Chronic insulin resistance and acute, ketosis-prone diabetic emergencies. |
