Core Tip |
Recent studies underscore the importance of endothelial dysfunction and inflammatory markers for the development of atherosclerotic disease. In addition, the literature suggests a direct association between periodontal and cardiovascular diseases. Nevertheless, more robust intervention studies are required to clarify specific gaps, especially in relation to the biological and clinical effects of periodontal disease on the genesis and progression of atherosclerotic disease. |
