Core Tip |
Gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl-diethylenetriamine-pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be used to demonstrate the filling defects due to mucin secreted by intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the bile duct (IPMN-B) and to display the extent of tumor infiltration beyond bile ducts in cases with invasive IPMN-B. It also has the potential to differentiate tumor tissue from inflammatory lesions. Therefore, Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI may improve the clinical management of IPMN-B. |
