Core Tip |
The review highlights the significant progress in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of Barrett’s esophagus (BE) thanks to the development of up-and-coming endoscopic technologies. Moreover, we discuss the recent introduction of novel esophageal pathophysiological exams that have improved the knowledge of the mechanisms implicated in the genesis of esophageal mucosal damage, paving the way to the future possibility of predicting BE neoplastic progression. The comparison of endoscopic surveillance and eradication therapy recommendations for BE in currently available guidelines are provided.
