Both integrin αvβ6 and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) play an important role in the development and progression of cancer. However, the combined effect of the two proteins in gastric cancer is not yet clear. We would like to draw attention to this aspect. In the present study, we demonstrated that the expression of αvβ6 and MMP-9 are closely correlated, and the combinational pattern of αvβ6 and MMP-9 can serve as a more effective prognostic index for gastric cancer patients. |
