Core Tip |
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a highly pre-valent disease, developing from adenomas. In primary prevention of CRC, following public health recom-mendations such as non-smoking, normal body weight, physical activity, limited alcohol consumption and healthy diet is important. In the present study, we showed that adherence to multiple health recom-mendations was associated with decreased risk of detecting advanced colorectal neoplasia (ACN) in CRC screening. Regarding single health recommendations, non-smoking and moderate alcohol consumption were the most important lifestyle factors associated with low risk of ACN. Lifestyle assessment in CRC screening may therefore be used as a tool in risk stratification of participants.
