The colokinetic effects of acyl ghrelin and des-acyl ghrelin depend on the intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection volume, and the acute increase of the ICV volume accelerates the colonic transit time. In addition, acyl ghrelin, rather than des-acyl ghrelin, stimulates colonic secretion. Colonic secretion does not always correlate with colonic motility in response to different colonic stimulations. |
