Core Tip |
This study demonstrated a significant association between microRNA (miR)-34a expression and the acquired chemoresistance to oxaliplatin (OXA) in colorectal cancer (CRC). miR-34a mediates OXA resistance through its inhibitory effects on macroautophagy by the transforming growth factor (TGF)-β/Smad4 pathway. Our findings suggest that miR-34a is a potential therapeutic target for improving the chemotherapeutic effect of OXA in CRC.
